Reminiscing

My product uses conventions by having an athlete: just like a real life scenario would come out of the gym and go about their daily life. I used that to add a conflict of the ball rolling out their bag. Which could potentially happen, and come back to them. It represents the social groups by having the ball bouncing around and relating to an athlete coming from a workout. It engages with the audiences through the music and fun viral vine sound effects. It would be distributed as a real media text by youtube all ages would be able too see it and it would also be on Instagram ads, and more favorable social medias. The product its self will of course be in stores. My production skill developed throughout this project because I didn't know how to edit. I learned new vocabulary that helped with my video like tracking, split screen, all the different angles. Not everything went as planned so the failures of trial and error placed a huge part in making this commercial. I integrated techno

This commercial was so fun to do. The editing was enjoyable. I had to be extra creative. I dug in my brain for some crazy ideas that accidentally worked. They work smoothly together.  I do think it could be better but for now what I did was my best. Going out to record is my favorite part of this process. It gave me a breather and I got to walk around for my shoot. I felt like a real director. I was so surprised when I realized that I was actually focused and didn’t give up. It was great walking around with my actor laughing at how many reshoots we had to do. I chose a great product, and storyline in really satisfied with my commercial.

Today i added the finishing touches to my commercial. I tried to spice it up as best as I can. It’s not a 5 star commercial or even a 4 star commercial but I tried my best. For my first time doing a commercial it was really fun. Every step of the way was something different. It made doing this commercial much more interesting. After finish editing I talked to my friends about their commercials. They all had different ideas. Also their process was way different but we all have a commercial. It was fun to see their ideas and hear the story’s if their commercial problems. I faced many minor challenges. Planning, recording, and editing; had stumps in them. I did’t expect everything to go as planned. That made it easier to cope with the little problems I faced. I liked that everything was organized, and set properly for each day, giving enough time to get it done. I would do another commercial on my own time. Just for the fun of doing a commercial. I would even make one for my friends if

Today’s editing was a little delayed I had to do take care of something before starting to edit.I looked for easy editing apps without watermarks. Most of the apps that include their watermark pay for it to be removed. I won’t be paying for that when there are million other apps excluding it. Especially if the program is already hard to use. I downloaded multiple editing apps. I wanted to see which was the best and which app was easier to use. After minutes of searching and reading reviews. I found one a pretty good app. It had easy functions and gave a tutorial of how to do it. When I found the right one it was pretty easy to edit. However at first getting the right transitions correct was hard. I had to make sure everything flowed. I had to redo the transitions and make sure there were clean. I had to make sure everything was understandable. I had my friend review my work multiple times. She was kind of getting tired of me saying “how does it look.” She gave me her honest opinion e

Today I got a chance to film. However, my original plan was to film inside the gym. I later found out that we were not able to film there. It kind of hindered my process. I had to rise above and quickly think of a new solution. I had to think back to my storyboard and connect some missing dots. When I got it together, I went to go record. I went to the track, near the cafeteria and the gym. Also my actor canceled on me the day before. It was actually in my favor because I wouldn’t be able to record in the gym anyways. At first I was kind of hurt but it all worked out. It was so hot outside but things had to be done. I started to sweat from walking around in the heat. When recording I had to have an assistant. I couldn’t record and roll the ball at the same time. They were very helpful. My new idea is quick and easy. I fear that it might be too short. Just in case it is to short I can slow some shots down, play around with the transitions and add some small add-ins. I got some good shot

During today’s production I did not film. However, next class I will film and have everything ready to edit. I looked for an actress who was willing to be apart of my commercial. I showed him the storyboard and he was on board with everything. We exchanged numbers so I could give him further instructions on the commercial. I didn’t film today because I was absent last few classes. So I had to create my storyboard off the idea I had. It wasn’t all of a sudden because I had this idea for a while. When creating the storyboard it was a little hard to picture everything in the correct order. Detail it enough to be good and finalize it. When I got done with it, it made everything easier. The story was clear to follow. I had no trouble explaining it to my actor and telling him how things will go. The only problem that I may have is the background. There were a lot of students running around. I wouldn’t mind them in the background but I don’t want to have a sloppy shoot. The gym already looks

Scene 1: My actress will walk into the gym. Scene 2: The actor will be getting ready on the bleachers, tying their shoe. Scene 3: When reaching for the something in the bag the ball will fall out. Scene 4: The ball will roll out onto the court.  Scene 5: My actor will walk out on the court and pick up the ball and school it in the basket. Scene 6: The ball will fall straight on to the floor and I will have a zoom in on it the fade out of the scene.
