Editing day three

Image
Today I am in depth editing it's taking a little longer because this is a much longer film. I am happy for the way that it's turning out so far however, I'm a little concerned that my genre of romance may be more of a horror. The original plan was to have a romance genre with a twist of horror. In class we watched an A level film that could potentially help us. The overall film was great. The music was spot on, sounds included voiceovers, diegetic and non diegetic sounds. My favorite take away from the film is that it had a motive. In my film I worry that I'm not going to be able to get the plot across and that the audience will be lost and confused as of what's going on; or I loose their attention early on in the film.

Hiccup

During the time I was actually supposed to film I went on a trip and that was a very minior hiccup, actually it wasn’t a problem at all it was more of an opportunity to better my film. I was able to go to seven out of eight of the Ivy League schools. Throughout I was able to record and film inside the school and it’s outside facilities. It was amazing to know the facts of each school and how they differ from each other. My favorite part was getting to see their gym it was amazing and although each school is different, They are joint by one common goal and that is education and sports.

Editing day Two

On the second day of editing I have pieced everything together, added all the transitions and special effects. For the flashbacks my main colors are black and white. I feel like that adds depth and mystery into the film

Editing Day One

Image
Day one of editing and it is so hard. I thought that I didn’t have enough but I may have had too much footage. With all the different parts it was kind of difficult for me to place each scenery and clips in its correct order. I’m so grateful for the storyboard because I have that as a reference to look back on and figure out where everything goes. With the storyboard I can figure out what parts I am missing and what parts I have. Hopefully I have everything so that I don’t have to re-film in some areas. As of editing it is kind of difficult right now but the storyboard made it easier, I am not done however I will get done. It’s cool to see what I was able to capture and when revising the film I was able to capture some unnecessary moments, some accidental moments, and some moments that are really able to turn my film around.

Filming Day Two

Image
Today I’m starting my second day of filming. In this part I got the big main shots. It was fun filming and I had some of my teammates there coincidentally. I also enjoyed looking at new scenery and other random places I haven’t been before. When recording I recorded some parts in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. I was on a Ivy League college tour so unintentionally film on all colleges and the best scenery around the area. It was an amazing experience and very grateful and blessed to have been on the trip.

Filming Day One

Today I filmed a lot. From going to Fort Lauderdale’s airport  to Philadelphia’s airport to Connecticut, I recorded a lot of my scenery and I recorded the part where I have my actor speed. My actor was an adult for this part so we were all safe. In Manchester the weather was in the low 40’s so I was able to capture a little bit of the snow. However I was not able to record all of what I needed to record in order to complete my film but tomorrow I hope to have everything done. I recorded throughout some parts in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. During Ivy League College tour I was able to venture off and see new places and get raw footage of what I will seeing.

Requesting Location

Image
Today I will be calling the settings of all possible locations used in my film, even the back up ones. By doing so I get the best personal response, if they are unavailable I can take care of business on the spot with other forms of communication like, email and text.

What's really going on

Image
Today I could not start because I felt overwhelmed. With all the blogs due, other assignments from other classes, sports and as each deadline creeps upon another. The reality of getting this done hit me and I just couldn’t. The stress and overwhelmed feel was just too much. I had to stop, slow down, and revaluate everything. Instead I listened to some royalty free music, went over the schedule again, made some adjustments and slowed down with everything. Taking this time as a little mental break and a recharge before I fully emerge myself into this film.

Music

Image
The music production company that I have emailed has not got to me yet. This makes me a little worried so I am going to just use Royalty Free music on Youtube. The way I want my sound is very specific so I am going to take some parts of different Royalty Free Music and make a mash up to what flows better with my scene. If not I will use just one sound that fits the best. The music in the film is what grasps the audience and keeps them engaged. By having at least that foundation I can have already  secured my audience to watching film. The mood I want to set while watching the film is calm or romantic mood because of my genes being romance. This is my favorite part of the process because I get to listen to music and get a personal feel for my film.
