Title Design

I’m going to be using the same font throughout the scene. The color will be the same and it won’t blend into the background. As of size I plan to keep it medium; for example the first name of the person holding the job will be 2 sizes larger that the rest of the words.  The title of my film is likely to be “elover” for example;  It will be bold face font and in all caps : eLover.  The titles will be it’s own transition and will be around 3-4 seconds long before it disappears.  Depending on the color of the scene I will be using black and white font.  However, all this may vary and I might want to change it depending on how I’m feeling or how I think it looks to fit my vision.  The order of my titles will be 1. Title  2. Name of the studio  3. Name of the production company 4. Actors names 5. Edited by 6. Music by 7. Produced by  8. Story and writer by 9. Directed by 10. Title name

Love Don't Cost A Thing design research romance genre

Image
There are titles like the movie name, the co-producers, cast, music supervisor, original score by, costume designer, editor, director, and more displayed during the opening sequence of Love Don't Cost A Thing. An image that was prioritized in the opening sequence is the actor, he is the main eyehook of the sequence. There are no connotation that the images carry in this sequence and that make me feel more confident in this film. The genre romance is reinforced throughout the sequence symbolically by having the senior couple from the out set. From the opening sequence the genre is more comedy than romance. Some conventions used to ensure the film appeals to its target is by hooking them on with comedy, involving the actors doing something funny and with the technology it captures the genre. The technology in this sequence was used effectively, by having an aerial shot, tracking shots, hand held shots, close up angels and more it increases the quality of the film making the audience

Tall girl design research romance genre

Image
There are titles displayed during the opening sequence of Tall Girl such as  the title, and the production company. A connotation that the film carries is that tall girls can't git in because of height and that makes me feel more intrigued about what's next to come. The genre romance is reinforced throughout the opening film by symbolically and you can tell what the genre is romance because of the way they have the characters in a two shot and the dialoged backs up this statement. Some conventions used to ensure the film appeals to its target is the music, calm setting, and by having a little conflict through the characters dialogue.

Happy Feet Design Research Romance Genre

Image
There are many titles displayed during the opening sequence of Happy Feet, Such as the main actors. There are no connotation that the images carry are and that makes me feel more confident that the genre romance will be portrayed through the whole film. The genre romance is reinforced through the opening film by symbolic and technical through the characters. To characteristics of the genre allows for it to be easily distinguished from other genre. You can clearly tell that the genre is romance because of the way the characters move, sing and interact with each other. Some conventions used to ensure the film appeals to its target are music, the characters and setting are used to attract the audience.

Midnight Sun romance genre research

Image
There are some titles displayed during the opening sequence of Midnight Sun like the production companies, its associates, and the title. There are no connotation that the images carry in the opening film. It is difficult to you tell that the genre is romance, this makes it hard to organize information so that it can make sense of. Some conventions used to ensure the film appeals to its target are mainly music, setting, and camera angles. By including these it helps the film present a certain topic, character, event, and more. This is important because genre conventions need to be met in order for the story to work.

Title Website Research

Image
Website: www.artofthetitle.com I am researching the Art of the title because I want visual ideas of top-of-the-art examples of opening sequences and what I should have in my film. The site as a whole gives me an idea of what's useful to use. In an opening sequence title design is really important. This is where I am able to grab my audience's attention and keep them hooked. Having their attention helps them to screen out the irrelevant and choose which information will enter. This website is really helpful, it gives a variety of designs from over a hundred different designers and studios. These openings give me more of an idea of how I want to format my titles. From animations, cartoons, and real-life movies, they have it all. Website: https://www.watchthetitles.com/ In the website watch the title issues it gives first person interviews, boosting the reliability of this website. By providing the interviews it gives the audience an inside look of the creator, a general summary o

Locations:  Collage, main characters house, party's, lake, and the café Some angles in the film after were tracking shots, God's eye, 2 shots and more these were used to the advantage of helping capture the genre.

Twilight

Image
Props:  In this film the props are the main focus by using colored eyes, thrown, and the known red truck Location:  Outside, Folks Washington, rooms, the beach and forests were some of many locations seen in this film. Costumes: The main cast of twilight all had to wear wigs while filming the movies. Thick jeans, a stylish top, and a leather jacket were some items the actors wore, lets not forget the fangs for the vampires.   Some angles differently to catch the audience’s attention and get them to say “wow that’s awesome

Locations: Locations like Oakland, California, in the neighborhood, Big Sur, Monterey County, barber shops, all across the streets and in a bedroom. Angles like close ups, two and three shots, tracking shots and more are included in Poetic Justice.

Comedy

Image
The camera angles used in this genre are standard cuts. Some common editing in this comedy genre are scene dissolve. Some common sounds in this genre are regular dialogue. Some example include films like Red Notice Ted and Sing. An element of this genre that I like is that the audience gets to laugh, it’s not serious or frightening, it helps the audience stay engaged and be more proactive when watching a comedy film. An element of this genre that does not appeal to me is when the actors give off a forced vibe. You can tell when it’s scripted and when the laughs are fake in these types of films. I would try to stay away from overdoing the comedy, less is always more.

Decision

Image
The genre I will be using is a romance genre because with this genre I can use the camera shots, angles, editing, and sound to really have the audience feel more involved in the film. I chose this genre because I want the audience to get the feeling of actually being in the film. By giving back story and not revealing too much of its true intentions making the audience wonder for more.

Romance

Image
The camera angles in the genre of a romance are usually medium shots, close up shots, eye level, and two or three shots. Some common editing in this genre are split screens, and fade aways. Some common sounds in this genre are voice overs, non diegetic sounds in order to create an atmosphere for the audience. Some example films are Titanic, Love & Basketball, and Love don’t cost a thing. An element of this genre that I like are medium shots and close up shots so that the audience can really feel what’s going on. An element I would use from this romance genre is the sound and music going hand and hand to really have the audience involved. An element that does not appeal to me is when there a little bit too much kissing, I feel as if the film should not be too intimate, it should be family friendly.  I would try to stay away from...

Horrer

Image
The camera angles in the horror genre include tracking, panning shot, dutch tilt, eye level, and birds-eye view or overhead shot. The suspense builds up as you don't know what will be shown next, creating an unsettling feeling within the viewer, adding to the genre of horror. Some common editing in this genre are suspense, under exposure, quick cuts and trade mark editing techniques. Some common sounds in this genre are diegetic and non diegetic sounds. Some example films are Chucky, It, Us, and scream. An element of this genre that I like and would use is the use of diegetic and non diegetic sound. An element of this genre that does not appeal to me is how some film makers don’t try and jump scare the audience and keep them engaged. I would try to stay away from too much gore and the overuse of voiceovers.

My pitch

Image
My first pitch is long distant love story. Never met, heard, or seen one another. These lovebirds believe they can come together and live happily together.   Im interested in making this film because I can show the context between the two people, how they are similar and how they differ without giving to much. leaving some alluring context and give the audience a bit of mystery. I can have them meet up but when one doesn’t show up that can be the plot twist. It’s a love story, who doesn’t want to see that!  My second pitch is about someone waking up with blood on their hands next to someone who they might have killed. They don’t know where they are, who they are and, who their with. This is a great film idea because I believe I have the recourses and settings to really make the film come alive. I can have different scenery and be able to show the actresses emotions. Reacting to what’s going on it will add to the films quality. For example I can have my actress scream and shout,  intrig
