What an introduction!

 


Hi my name is Shenaida, I don’t want to be a bore but I am a student athlete who actually finds school fascinating. I am currently taking AICE media studies. So far the class is very interesting. I’m excited to have learned and is still learning so much more about film; it’s angles; editing; and everything it consists of. These past few projects have left me in awe: much work to be done but I’m happy and proud of myself on what I’ve been able to accomplish. In the beginning I kind of struggled with blogging but now it’s a breeze, after all the constant blogging I found an interesting in it and enjoy every moment. I get to express myself and what I’m working on through creative content. I love how everyday there is a new challenge being presented.There is never a dull day in class, the teachers and students are active and brighten up the setting which makes my learning environment even better. Outside of school I mostly play basketball but if you give me a football or a bowling ball I’ll be sure to find a way. I love art and the way I get to express myself in many different languages without saying anything. A variety of ideas thoughts and interpretations come in the form of art. It’s not just painting and sketching, but building and thinking. It’s so controversial and I love it. You can show one thing but really mean another. You can be literal but also metaphorical at the same time. I feel like that is what represents me and this course. I get a lot of creative freedom when working on projects and that’s one of the best parts. I’m big on family and vacations: relaxing is the way to go. Netflix is one of my best friends, I’m currently watching all the good movies and shows. Including Good girls, Black Lighting and Cobra Kai. Now that you’ve gotten to know me, don’t settle for too long because I’m going to come back with more knowledge and expertise in this course.

Getting it done

  When filming it took a little longer that we anticipated. We had to do a lot of retakes to get the right shot and angle.we did a lot of negotiating and talking. The actors that we had planned, unfortunately could not be able to film in time with us. So we had to get last minute actors, they really came to the rescue. After we found our address, we did a lot of talking then walking, which I counted as a exercise. The film was very last minute, and it was kind of rushed. One of our actors wanted to quit mid way of the filming. The actor felt disrespected. We filmed on the bus, and there were a lot of people also on the bus, it was loud, hot and very bumpy. We pushed through and kept hustling. There was a limited amount of space and time but we got it done. At the time we just wanted to get as much film as possible. R&B Vs. Pop

We actually didn’t know what song to do for a while and it was starting to worry me. Nothing school appropriate and also interesting to me came to mind. We brushed it off for a while and still came back with a blank mind.  After countless hours of video watching, dancing, water breaks, getting into character and “turn that down” We finally found the perfect song for my music video. We  decided to go a little new school,  they wear costumes like baggy pants, long shirts, long chains shades and more. They use props like speakers, fancy cars, party props and more.  Their appearance is usually hip and r&b adding to the overall music video. The score through the music videos are medium to slow paced sounds, meant to make the viewer feel what they are portraying. Whether that’s heartbreak, sadness, happiness and more.  1. The site as a whole gives me an idea of what's useful to use. In an opening sequence title design is really important. This is where I am able to grab my audience's attention and keep them hooked.
